Fabric Special Topics: Fabric Theory

$180.00

Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm, June 24th - July 29th w/Sarah

This class is a special topics series that will go over content that is not traditionally offered through our Curriculum. Be prepared to challenge your fabric theory knowledge and strength. This will give you new things to work on and towards for more aerial fabric confidence.

Move beyond individual poses and chunky sequencing on the silks. Let’s deepen your knowledge and understanding by studying how the fabric interacts with itself and your body, as well as how tension and friction affect the fabric’s ability to support your body in the air. Understanding fabric theory allows you to safely build independence on the silk by teaching you to accurately identify a wrap at every stage to avoid instability and tangles. (Or, let’s face it, help you get untangled, because well…  tangles happen.) Fabric theory also helps you create smoother and more unique transitions, spicing up your performances.

Be prepared to roll around on the floor, tangle yourself up intentionally, and use string in a way you may not have thought of before. Come ready to get nerdy!

Pre reqs- Must be in fabric 4 or higher.

If the session is sold out - please send us an email so we can get another section open for registration or put you on the waitlist! Email inthedarkcircusarts@gmail.com.
